The talented cast of Dabba Cartel, including Shabana Azmi, Anjali Anand, Jyotika, and Shalini Pandey, have been reveling in the success of their show, earning well-deserved recognition for their performances. Recently, the actresses sat down with Bollywood Bubble for an exclusive interview, where they candidly discussed a range of topics. From facing pay disparity in the industry to navigating the challenges of fame, the actresses shared their unfiltered thoughts. Acclaimed actress Jyotika, in particular, opened up about her experiences of being treated as a sidekick to male actors in films.
Jyotika on the harsh reality she had to accept in the industry
When asked about the hardest pill she had to swallow in the film industry, Jyotika gave a very fitting response. She stated, “I think after doing a number of films, you are called by big production houses to just stand by a large male actor. A place where you’re not given a concrete role enough, and you know, you wonder why they come to you. I think that’s quite a hard pill to swallow because you think you’ve been there and done it, but still, you don’t know why you’re being treated as a sidekick. So, I think that’s something which is very demeaning.”
Apart from Jyotika, Anjali Anand and Shalini Pandey too shared their takes on this particular question.
